Summary of Key Putting Tips:
This drill covers two areas, one is reading greens and the other is practicing consistency . He starts by getting behind the ball to see where he wants it to travel. He then uses a wire hop (a small hop that would be used in croquet) to figure out the start of the putt.
Once he figures out the and places the hop where he feels the ball must go through he then takes about 10-12 practice putts. This helps get his consistency down and builds a repetitive movement.
However the main benefit is this helps in pinpointing how accurate he is in reading greens from testing out his position with a series of putts. He then can determine how accurate he was in reading the break.. Zach says that he has a tendency to over read breaks and this drill helps him see putts more conservative.
